Assimilation
I made this performance shortly after my arrival to the United States. It refers to the process of assimilation of foreigners in America. There are many restrictions that feel like bounds that are prohibiting individuals like me from functioning normally in their new environment. It takes time to adjust and gain freedom. This performance starts by tying the beginning of thread at the International Education Office. Then I am slowly unwinding on my path through the campus. This simple motion becomes really uncomfortable after a short time because the constant spinning made me really dizzy and my stomach really sick. On the end of the performance when I got completely freed from the binding and walked away I still had to recover for hours.

Length of performance: cca 45 min
